Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you train me at my home?
A: Absolutely. This is a popular request, and understandably so for a variety of reasons. It’s as easy as me showing up to your home with exercise equipment such as dumbbells, resistance bands, exercise mats, steps and platforms, balance balls, and other essentials. Note that in some cases such as body building or athletic endurance, I may recommend that you also purchase some equipment, and I can help you select the gear that would be right for you. Nevertheless, 95% of the time, you don't need a thing; I'll bring all the gear you'll need. To see rates for your area, please visit my
rates page.

Q: I have access to a gym at my condo complex, can you train me there?
A: Yes. However, it all depends on the equipment available, and if it will fit your needs. In either case, I can also bring equipment when needed.

Q: Can you do training at my office?
A: Yes. Provided there is a gym facility on the premises, or room to bring in my equipment.

Q: Do you train at a local health club?
A: No. Unfortunately, the chain gyms in the area (Golds, 24-Hour, etc.) require full time employees, and pocket about 80% of the hourly fees you pay for, and pass on very little to the trainers. Sadly, this tends to lead to less experienced trainers at these gyms. Although I was training at Body Focus, which allowed experienced, independant trainers to bring in clients, the trainer rent at Body Focus has become too high, and would require me to charge even more than I would for at-home training to provide you with the professional services you need.

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes. I carry liability insurance covering $500,000.00 per incident. I carry my certificate of insurance with me at all times, and would be more than happy to show you as well.

Q: What do you charge?
A: I charge per session and have a discount schedule for the purchase of multiple sessions. I also provide a discount starter package. To see my current rates and discount packages,

Q: How often do I need to train with you?
A: That's really up to you, your time, budget, and comfort level. Although I may recommend a program that involves exercise 3 times a week, you may only need to meet with me once a week to stay on track. I'm quite flexible, and will work with you on your special needs, budget, and schedule.

Q: If you train me at home, do I need any special gear?
A: Typically no. For most workout programs I can provide the necessary equipment including dumbells, resistance bands, balance balls, step platforms, mats, ankle weights, etc. I also come equipped with asessment equipment including body fat tester, scale, and measuring tapes. I do suggest however that you purchase some items that you can use when we are not training (your own dumbells, perhaps some resistance bands, mats, etc). You can purchase myriad equipment at minimal prices at places like Target, Big 5, Sport Chalet, etc. I also have equipment links at my
resources page.

Q: How much space do I need to train in my home?
A: Suprisingly very little. The more the better, but it doesn't take much. Depending on the exercise, we can use different areas of your home. For instance, many resistance exercises can be done within 6 feet of a doorway using resistance bands. For dumbell and steppers, we only need an area about 8 feet by 4 feet. Some clients prefer to exercise out back on their patios or yards, and others find their garage to be spacey enough. We can also use a section of your living room, den, or any place else you might have some room. Upon doing an initial asessment with you, I can help you to select an area of your home where we can train.

Q: I have special medical issues. Can you still provide training that considers these?
A: Absolutely. Part of my training as an NASM Certified Fitness Professional includes designing and implementing workout programs for those who suffer from obesity, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, cancer, and other such medical issues. Depending on your condition however, I may request that you obtain and OK from your physician before performing exercises. Nevertheless, all of me training programs begin with an assessment where I will screen for medical issues as well as overall condition. After the assessment I can provide you with a program design that you can review with your doctor. If need be, we can discuss this with your physician together to ensure your overall safety and well-being.

Q: I work during the day. Can you train me in the evening and/or on weekends?
A: Yes.
Contact me for available hours.

Q: I have a question not listed here.
A: Feel free to contact me at your convenience. I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Just
